Retail therapy in the souk of Marrakesh

Retail therapy might be more up your street. And if you are looking for some fun shopping experiences with your partner, Marrakech has these in abundance. Local markets – known as souks – offer a unique chance to haggle with locals, and see a broad range of items from pottery and souvenirs to spices and textiles.

But Marrakech is a modern city, and you’ll also find malls and shopping outlets if you want the kind of experience you’re more used to. 


One of the most iconic landmarks of Marrakech is the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in the city and the oldest mosque in Morocco. The mosque is a beautiful example of Almohad architecture and is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. If you’ve got a head for heights, you can also climb the minaret for a panoramic view of the city.

Another popular attraction is the Bahia Palace, a magnificent palace built in the 19th century that was once home to a wealthy Moroccan noble. The palace is a stunning example of Moroccan architecture and offers visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the city’s elite.
